Why does Aarthi Scans & Labs offer services at low prices?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, we strongly believe that the cost of diagnosing a disease should never push a patient into financial hardship or make their treatment unaffordable. Unfortunately, the high cost of diagnostic services across the country often leads to delayed diagnoses, unaffordable tests, and limited access to advanced facilities leaving millions vulnerable.

Our vision is simple yet powerful; no one should suffer because a diagnosis is out of reach. To make this a reality, we have consistently kept our pricing 50–60% lower than the industry average, especially for essential services like MRI, CT, and blood tests. We also provide reduced pricing during night hours, further easing access for patients.

Over the last 36 years, it has been the trust of our patients, their word of mouth, and our unwavering commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate diagnostics that have helped us scale and sustain this model. By combining exceptional diagnostic capabilities with affordability, we continue to fight for a healthcare system where early, accurate diagnosis is accessible to all.

How does Aarthi Scans and Labs offer Services at a lower cost?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, affordability is at the heart of our vision:“The cost to diagnose a disease should not make a patient poor, that their treatment becomes unaffordable.” Guided by this principle, we have priced our scans and blood tests 50–60% lower than the market rate, without compromising on quality or accuracy.

    We achieve this through:

    Profit by volume & scale

Serving a large patient base allows us to keep costs low and pass on the benefit directly to patients.

    Efficient use of technology

Automation and digital workflows reduce manual work in reporting, improving speed while cutting costs.

    In-house management

Our leadership operates with in-depth knowledge of local needs, ensuring effective and cost-conscious operations.

    Right-sized infrastructure

We invest wisely in facilities and real estate, avoiding unnecessary overheads.

    Frugal spending

Every rupee is spent with care, prioritizing patient benefit over extravagance.

    Zero-kickback policy

We ensure that our savings is passed directly to the patients instead of intermediaries.

    Renal Ultrasound Scan

A Renal Ultrasound evaluates the kidneys for stones, cysts, or swelling. The scan takes 10–15 minutes, and the report is ready in 6 hours. The cost is around ₹1,000–₹1,200, and the procedure is completely safe with no radiation exposure.

What is a Renal Ultrasound scan?

A renal ultrasound is a non-invasive and painless way of imaging the kidneys. The radiologist scans the kidney and the surrounding structures using a transducer. High frequency sound waves are sent by the transducer to the kidneys. They bounce off the organ and echo back to the handheld device.

The transducer collects these electronic signals and sends them to a specialized computer. The ultrasound monitors process those signals and generate real-time visuals. A renal ultrasound is helpful in the diagnosis of cancers, tumors, abnormalities in the urinary tract, and kidney abnormalities.

When and why is a Renal Ultrasound scan done?

A Renal Ultrasound is performed to examine the kidneys and urinary tract. It helps detect kidney stones, cysts, infections, and blockages. Doctors recommend it for back pain, high blood pressure, or abnormal kidney function tests, as it provides a safe and non-invasive way to evaluate kidney health.

What happens before a Renal Ultrasound scan?

Before your Renal Ultrasound scan, our sonography team will review your medical history, current symptoms, and referring doctor’s notes to understand the reason for the test — such as kidney stones, urinary tract issues, or swelling. You may be advised to drink plenty of water (4–6 glasses) about an hour before the scan and avoid urinating until after the test, as a moderately full bladder helps visualize the kidneys and bladder more clearly. In some cases, you may also be asked to avoid heavy meals for 4–6 hours prior to the scan to reduce bowel gas interference. Please carry any previous ultrasound or lab reports for accurate comparison and ongoing care.

What happens during a Renal Ultrasound scan?

During the scan, you’ll be asked to lie comfortably on your back or side on the examination table. A clear, water-based gel is applied to your abdomen and flank area to allow smooth movement of the ultrasound probe (transducer) and better sound wave transmission. The sonologist will gently move the probe over your abdomen, sides, and lower back to capture real-time images of the kidneys, ureters, and urinary bladder.

The scan helps assess kidney size, shape, blood flow, stones, cysts, or blockages in the urinary tract. The procedure is non-invasive, painless, and free of radiation, and typically takes about 15–20 minutes to complete.

What happens after a Renal Ultrasound scan?

After the scan, the gel will be wiped off, and you can resume your normal routine immediately. There are no side effects or restrictions following the procedure. The images captured are carefully reviewed by a qualified radiologist, who prepares a detailed report highlighting any abnormalities or structural changes in your kidneys and bladder. The report will then be shared with your referring physician or urologist, who will interpret the findings and recommend the appropriate next steps in your treatment or follow-up care.

Who shouldn’t get a Renal Ultrasound scan?

Generally speaking, a renal ultrasound is a safe procedure and nearly everyone can get it, there are some exceptions. They are:

    • Patient with urinary retention issues
    • Pregnant women
    • Patients with sutures, open wounds and bandage in the target area
    • People with obesity
    • Had Barium x-rays recently
