- In 1985, Er. V. Govindarajan established a 20-bed hospital in Kovilpatti.
- He then noticed that people from smaller towns were travelling far to larger cities to access basic diagnostic services.
- To bridge this gap, he established the first Aarthi Scans and Labs centre in Tirunelveli in 2000, integrating CT, MRI and Ultrasound services under one roof.
