Why does Aarthi Scans & Labs offer services at low prices?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, we strongly believe that the cost of diagnosing a disease should never push a patient into financial hardship or make their treatment unaffordable. Unfortunately, the high cost of diagnostic services across the country often leads to delayed diagnoses, unaffordable tests, and limited access to advanced facilities leaving millions vulnerable.

Our vision is simple yet powerful; no one should suffer because a diagnosis is out of reach. To make this a reality, we have consistently kept our pricing 50–60% lower than the industry average, especially for essential services like MRI, CT, and blood tests. We also provide reduced pricing during night hours, further easing access for patients.

Over the last 36 years, it has been the trust of our patients, their word of mouth, and our unwavering commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate diagnostics that have helped us scale and sustain this model. By combining exceptional diagnostic capabilities with affordability, we continue to fight for a healthcare system where early, accurate diagnosis is accessible to all.

How does Aarthi Scans and Labs offer Services at a lower cost?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, affordability is at the heart of our vision:“The cost to diagnose a disease should not make a patient poor, that their treatment becomes unaffordable.” Guided by this principle, we have priced our scans and blood tests 50–60% lower than the market rate, without compromising on quality or accuracy.

    We achieve this through:

    Profit by volume & scale

Serving a large patient base allows us to keep costs low and pass on the benefit directly to patients.

    Efficient use of technology

Automation and digital workflows reduce manual work in reporting, improving speed while cutting costs.

    In-house management

Our leadership operates with in-depth knowledge of local needs, ensuring effective and cost-conscious operations.

    Right-sized infrastructure

We invest wisely in facilities and real estate, avoiding unnecessary overheads.

    Frugal spending

Every rupee is spent with care, prioritizing patient benefit over extravagance.

    Zero-kickback policy

We ensure that our savings is passed directly to the patients instead of intermediaries.

    KUB Ultrasound Scan

A KUB Ultrasound focuses on the kidneys, ureters, and bladder, helping identify stones, infections, or other urinary issues. The scan takes 15–20 minutes, and the report is available within 6 hours. It is affordable at ₹1,000–₹1,300 and involves no radiation, ensuring a safe diagnostic experience.

What is a KUB Ultrasound scan?

A KUB ultrasound is a non-invasive and painless method of imaging using high frequency sound waves that bounce back. It is the diagnosis of the urinary tract that consists of the kidneys, ureter, and bladder. A sonographer applies a gel on the abdomen and moves the transducer around it. The transducer captures the echoes of the sound waves and sends them to a specialized computer.

The computer, which is an extension of the ultrasound machine, processes electronic signals and generates real-time images. They check for the size, shape, structure, and various other abnormalities of the urinary tract. A KUB ultrasound is used in the diagnosis of kidney stones, urinary tract infections, abnormalities, causes of flank pain, lower back pain, and issues of the bladder.

When and why is a KUB Ultrasound scan done?

A KUB Ultrasound (Kidney, Ureter, and Bladder) is done to examine the urinary system. It helps detect kidney stones, bladder infections, urinary blockages, or enlarged organs. This scan is recommended for patients experiencing flank pain, frequent urination, or blood in urine, offering a quick, radiation-free diagnosis.

What happens before a KUB Ultrasound scan?

Before your KUB Ultrasound scan, our team will guide you through simple preparation steps. You may be asked to drink water and avoid urinating for about an hour before the scan so that your bladder is full, this helps produce clearer images. It’s also advisable to avoid heavy meals or carbonated drinks before the scan, as these can cause gas that may interfere with image clarity. You’ll be requested to wear comfortable clothing or change into a gown provided at the center. The sonographer will explain the procedure in detail to ensure you’re comfortable and relaxed.

What happens during a KUB Ultrasound scan?

During the scan, you’ll be asked to lie down on the examination table, and a water-based gel will be applied to your abdomen and lower back area. This gel helps the ultrasound probe (transducer) glide smoothly over your skin and ensures good contact for clear imaging. The sonographer will then gently move the probe over your kidneys, ureters, and bladder region to capture real-time images. You may be asked to hold your breath briefly or change positions to help visualize the organs better. The procedure is completely safe, non-invasive, and painless, usually taking about 15–20 minutes to complete.

What happens after a KUB Ultrasound scan?

Once the scan is done, the gel will be wiped off, and you can resume your regular activities immediately. There’s no downtime or side effects. A qualified radiologist will analyze the ultrasound images to check for any signs of stones, infections, blockages, or structural abnormalities in your urinary system. The findings will be compiled into a detailed report and shared with your referring doctor, who will discuss the results and suggest further steps if necessary.

Who cannot get a KUB Ultrasound?

Generally speaking, a KUB ultrasound is a safe procedure and nearly everyone can get it, there are some exceptions. They are:

    • Patient with urinary retention issues
    • Pregnant women
    • Patients with sutures, open wounds and bandage in the target area
