Why does Aarthi Scans & Labs offer services at low prices?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, we strongly believe that the cost of diagnosing a disease should never push a patient into financial hardship or make their treatment unaffordable. Unfortunately, the high cost of diagnostic services across the country often leads to delayed diagnoses, unaffordable tests, and limited access to advanced facilities leaving millions vulnerable.

Our vision is simple yet powerful; no one should suffer because a diagnosis is out of reach. To make this a reality, we have consistently kept our pricing 50–60% lower than the industry average, especially for essential services like MRI, CT, and blood tests. We also provide reduced pricing during night hours, further easing access for patients.

Over the last 36 years, it has been the trust of our patients, their word of mouth, and our unwavering commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate diagnostics that have helped us scale and sustain this model. By combining exceptional diagnostic capabilities with affordability, we continue to fight for a healthcare system where early, accurate diagnosis is accessible to all.

How does Aarthi Scans and Labs offer Services at a lower cost?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, affordability is at the heart of our vision:“The cost to diagnose a disease should not make a patient poor, that their treatment becomes unaffordable.” Guided by this principle, we have priced our scans and blood tests 50–60% lower than the market rate, without compromising on quality or accuracy.

    We achieve this through:

    Profit by volume & scale

Serving a large patient base allows us to keep costs low and pass on the benefit directly to patients.

    Efficient use of technology

Automation and digital workflows reduce manual work in reporting, improving speed while cutting costs.

    In-house management

Our leadership operates with in-depth knowledge of local needs, ensuring effective and cost-conscious operations.

    Right-sized infrastructure

We invest wisely in facilities and real estate, avoiding unnecessary overheads.

    Frugal spending

Every rupee is spent with care, prioritizing patient benefit over extravagance.

    Zero-kickback policy

We ensure that our savings is passed directly to the patients instead of intermediaries.

    Antenatal Ultrasound

An Antenatal Ultrasound helps track the development of the baby and placenta during pregnancy. The scan lasts 15–25 minutes, and the report is ready in 6 hours. The price ranges between ₹1,000 and ₹1,500, and the test is entirely radiation-free, ensuring the safety of the expecting mother.

    What is Antenatal Ultrasound scan?

Antenatal ultrasound is a non-invasive and painless way of imaging the developing fetus inside the mother’s womb. Additionally, it also helps in imaging the uterus, ovaries, placenta, amniotic fluid, and so on. A radiologist scans the abdominal area using a transducer that sends electronic signals to a specialized computer. High frequency radio waves are sent by the transducer, which bounces off the uterus and fetus and echoes back to the handheld device.

The ultrasound monitors processes those signals and generates real-time visuals of the internal structures. Antenatal ultrasound is helpful in monitoring fetal development, gestational age of the fetus, fetal anomalies, placental position, amniotic fluid, fetal presentation, position, and multiple pregnancies.

When and why is an Antenatal Ultrasound scan done?

An Antenatal Ultrasound is a general pregnancy scan done at different stages to check the baby’s growth, heartbeat, and position. It helps evaluate placental health, fetal movement, and amniotic fluid levels. This scan is vital for tracking pregnancy progress and identifying any early complications.

What happens before an Antenatal Ultrasound scan?

Before your Antenatal Ultrasound scan, our sonography team will review your pregnancy history, gestational age, and doctor’s referral to determine which stage of antenatal scanning is being performed (early pregnancy, anomaly, growth, or Doppler assessment). You may be advised to drink 3–4 glasses of water about an hour before the scan and to avoid emptying your bladder, as a full bladder helps provide clearer images during early pregnancy scans. In later stages, this is usually not necessary. No fasting is required, and you can eat normally before the test. You’ll also be asked to bring any previous ultrasound reports or medical records for accurate comparison.

What happens during an Antenatal Ultrasound scan?

During the procedure, you’ll be asked to lie comfortably on your back on the examination table. A clear, water-based gel is applied to your abdomen to help transmit sound waves effectively. The sonologist will move a handheld ultrasound probe (transducer) over your abdomen to capture real-time images of your baby, placenta, uterus, and amniotic fluid.

The scan helps assess your baby’s growth, movement, heartbeat, and overall wellbeing, as well as the position of the placenta and umbilical cord. In early pregnancy, a transvaginal ultrasound may be used for clearer imaging of the uterus and embryo; this is safe and performed with full care and privacy. The procedure is painless, radiation-free, and usually takes about 20–30 minutes.

What happens after an Antenatal Ultrasound scan?

After the scan, the gel will be cleaned off, and you can return to your normal routine immediately. There are no side effects or restrictions after the procedure. The images obtained are reviewed by a specialist radiologist, who prepares a detailed report on your baby’s growth, development, and pregnancy health indicators. The report will be shared with your obstetrician or gynecologist, who will explain the findings and advise on any follow-up scans or further assessments if needed.

Who shouldn’t get an Antenatal Ultrasound scan?

Pregnant women who cannot get an ultrasound are those who:

    • Are obese
    • Have an injury or scar that makes it difficult
    • Wrong fetal position
    • Too early in pregnancy

    Frequently Asked Questions

Antenatal Ultrasound is a medical imaging procedure that uses ultrasound waves to create pictures of the developing embryo, placenta and the uterus. It is helpful in the detection of pregnancy and any possible complication.

During an Antenatal Ultrasound, the technician applies cold gel on your abdomen, specifically lower abdomen during the early weeks of your pregnancy. Then they will move the transducer on the belly. The sound waves from the transducer bounce back and create pictures of the gestational sac, fetus, and the placenta.

During the entirety of a healthy pregnancy, 4-5 ultrasound scans will be needed up until the delivery of the baby. These include a dating scan between 6-8 weeks, Nuchal Translucency scan between 11-13 weeks, Anomaly scan between 18 – 20 weeks, Fetal Echocardiography at 22-24 weeks, and Growth and Doppler scan after 28 weeks.

There are no associated risks with Antenatal Ultrasound provided they are kept to a minimum – done for medical reasons only. In that sense, Antenatal Ultrasounds are not only safe in comparison to other imaging techniques but also necessary as they closely monitor fetal growth and development.

During your Antenatal Ultrasound scan, you will be asked to drink plenty of water to ensure amniotic fluid is maintained. Not only is it crucial for a healthy pregnancy but also helps in better visualization of the fetus on the scan. You can wear comfortable clothing that offers easy access to your lower abdomen. Avoid applying perfume, creams or any ointment that may interfere with the scan.

An Antenatal Ultrasound takes 30 minutes to an hour depending on the pregnancy. If it’s a normal and healthy pregnancy, it can take less than 20 minutes but if complications arise, it may extend to 45 minutes also.

The cost of Antenatal Ultrasound at Aarthi Scans and Labs starts at Rs. 2750.

Antenatal Ultrasound is generally painless for most women. You may feel discomfort when the sonographer guides the transducer over your lower belly and puts pressure to get clear images. This may cause discomfort but only for a short while.
