Why does Aarthi Scans & Labs offer services at low prices?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, we strongly believe that the cost of diagnosing a disease should never push a patient into financial hardship or make their treatment unaffordable. Unfortunately, the high cost of diagnostic services across the country often leads to delayed diagnoses, unaffordable tests, and limited access to advanced facilities leaving millions vulnerable.

Our vision is simple yet powerful; no one should suffer because a diagnosis is out of reach. To make this a reality, we have consistently kept our pricing 50–60% lower than the industry average, especially for essential services like MRI, CT, and blood tests. We also provide reduced pricing during night hours, further easing access for patients.

Over the last 36 years, it has been the trust of our patients, their word of mouth, and our unwavering commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate diagnostics that have helped us scale and sustain this model. By combining exceptional diagnostic capabilities with affordability, we continue to fight for a healthcare system where early, accurate diagnosis is accessible to all.

How does Aarthi Scans and Labs offer Services at a lower cost?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, affordability is at the heart of our vision:“The cost to diagnose a disease should not make a patient poor, that their treatment becomes unaffordable.” Guided by this principle, we have priced our scans and blood tests 50–60% lower than the market rate, without compromising on quality or accuracy.

    We achieve this through:

    Profit by volume & scale

Serving a large patient base allows us to keep costs low and pass on the benefit directly to patients.

    Efficient use of technology

Automation and digital workflows reduce manual work in reporting, improving speed while cutting costs.

    In-house management

Our leadership operates with in-depth knowledge of local needs, ensuring effective and cost-conscious operations.

    Right-sized infrastructure

We invest wisely in facilities and real estate, avoiding unnecessary overheads.

    Frugal spending

Every rupee is spent with care, prioritizing patient benefit over extravagance.

    Zero-kickback policy

We ensure that our savings is passed directly to the patients instead of intermediaries.

    Anomaly Ultrasound Scan

An Anomaly Ultrasound is a detailed pregnancy scan usually done between 18–22 weeks to assess the baby’s growth and detect any structural abnormalities. The procedure takes about 30–45 minutes, and the report is ready within 6 hours. The cost is ₹3,900, and since it uses sound waves instead of radiation, it is completely safe for both mother and baby.

What is an Anomaly Ultrasound Scan?

An anomaly ultrasound is a fetal scan between 18-20 weeks that is used to examine the fetus’s physical development. A hand-held transducer is placed on the lower abdomen of the mother to scan the fetus. The transducer sends high frequency sound waves that bounce off the fetus and return to it. Furthermore, the echoes are captured by the transducer and sent to the specialized computer which generates 2D, 3D, and 4D images of the fetus as per the requirement.

The purpose of an anomaly scan is to measure the head circumference, abdominal circumference, and femur length of the fetus. Additionally, it assesses the fetus’s abdominal wall, bladder, kidneys, stomach, limbs, heart, spine, face, brain, and head. The anomaly scan also monitors the health of placenta, amniotic fluid, umbilical cord, and detects various abnormalities of the fetus.

When and why is an Anomaly Ultrasound scan done?

An Anomaly Ultrasound (also called the mid-pregnancy scan) is usually performed between 18 to 22 weeks of pregnancy to check the baby’s growth and development. It helps evaluate fetal organs, limbs, brain, spine, heart, and placenta to detect any structural abnormalities early. This scan ensures both the mother and baby’s health are progressing normally.

What happens before an Anomaly Ultrasound scan?

Before your Anomaly Ultrasound scan, our sonographer or radiologist will first review your pregnancy details, previous scan reports, and medical history to ensure accurate evaluation. This scan is typically performed between 18 to 22 weeks of pregnancy to check the baby’s growth and detect any structural anomalies. You may be asked to arrive with a partially full bladder, as this helps improve the clarity of images, especially in early-stage pregnancies. You’ll also be advised to wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your abdomen. The procedure and its purpose will be explained to you clearly before the scan begins, ensuring you feel calm and well-informed.

What happens during an Anomaly Ultrasound scan?

During the scan, you’ll be asked to lie comfortably on the examination table, and a clear, water-based gel will be applied to your abdomen. This gel helps the ultrasound transducer glide smoothly and transmit sound waves to create detailed images of your baby. The sonographer will gently move the transducer across your abdomen, capturing real-time images of the baby’s organs, spine, limbs, brain, heart, kidneys, and facial structures. You may see your baby’s movements on the screen as the scan progresses. The procedure is completely safe, painless, and non-invasive, usually taking 30–45 minutes depending on your baby’s position and activity during the scan.

What happens after an Anomaly Ultrasound scan?

After the scan, the sonographer will wipe off the gel and you can resume your regular activities immediately. The images and findings will be reviewed by a specialist radiologist, who will prepare a detailed report outlining your baby’s development, organ structure, and any observations. The report will then be shared with your obstetrician or gynecologist, who will explain the results and discuss any necessary follow-up or further scans if required. In most cases, the scan provides reassurance that your baby is developing normally, offering peace of mind for expecting parents.

Who shouldn’t get an Anomaly Ultrasound scan?

An anomaly scan is part of the prenatal care, but certain conditions do not allow for it, and they are:

    • When the mother is obese
    • If the abdominal wall is thick
    • Pregnant with twins or triplets
