Why does Aarthi Scans & Labs offer services at low prices?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, we strongly believe that the cost of diagnosing a disease should never push a patient into financial hardship or make their treatment unaffordable. Unfortunately, the high cost of diagnostic services across the country often leads to delayed diagnoses, unaffordable tests, and limited access to advanced facilities leaving millions vulnerable.

Our vision is simple yet powerful; no one should suffer because a diagnosis is out of reach. To make this a reality, we have consistently kept our pricing 50–60% lower than the industry average, especially for essential services like MRI, CT, and blood tests. We also provide reduced pricing during night hours, further easing access for patients.

Over the last 36 years, it has been the trust of our patients, their word of mouth, and our unwavering commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate diagnostics that have helped us scale and sustain this model. By combining exceptional diagnostic capabilities with affordability, we continue to fight for a healthcare system where early, accurate diagnosis is accessible to all.

How does Aarthi Scans and Labs offer Services at a lower cost?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, affordability is at the heart of our vision:“The cost to diagnose a disease should not make a patient poor, that their treatment becomes unaffordable.” Guided by this principle, we have priced our scans and blood tests 50–60% lower than the market rate, without compromising on quality or accuracy.

    We achieve this through:

    Profit by volume & scale

Serving a large patient base allows us to keep costs low and pass on the benefit directly to patients.

    Efficient use of technology

Automation and digital workflows reduce manual work in reporting, improving speed while cutting costs.

    In-house management

Our leadership operates with in-depth knowledge of local needs, ensuring effective and cost-conscious operations.

    Right-sized infrastructure

We invest wisely in facilities and real estate, avoiding unnecessary overheads.

    Frugal spending

Every rupee is spent with care, prioritizing patient benefit over extravagance.

    Zero-kickback policy

We ensure that our savings is passed directly to the patients instead of intermediaries.

    CT KUB Scan

A CT KUB scan evaluates the urinary system for stones, infections, or blockages. The procedure takes 10–15 minutes, and the report is available within 6 hours. It costs around ₹2,750–₹3,500, and while radiation exposure is moderate, it is carefully controlled for safe and accurate imaging.

What is a CT KUB scan?

A CT KUB scan, also known as CAT scan or computed tomography image, is the medical imaging of the urinary tract area. A combination of X-rays and a specialized CT console creates and processes clear images of the internal structures of the urinary system. These include the kidneys, the ureter, and the bladder.

A CT scan aids diagnostic accuracy by providing a cross-sectional view of the urinary tract’s internal structures in thin slices. These slices make medical assessment easier, convenient, and effective in tracking subtle abnormalities within the structures. A KUB CT scan is far more advanced than a conventional x-ray and detects kidney stones, urinary tract infections, blockages, and lesions.

When and why is a CT KUB scan done?

A CT KUB scan is done to detect kidney stones, urinary tract blockages, infections, or bladder problems. It provides detailed images of the urinary system, helping identify the exact location and size of stones. Doctors often suggest this scan for patients with severe flank pain, blood in urine, or recurrent UTIs.

What happens before a CT KUB scan?

Before your CT KUB scan, our medical team will review your health history and discuss any existing conditions or medications. You’ll be asked if you have any allergies, kidney problems, or previous reactions to contrast dye, as some KUB (Kidneys, Ureters, and Bladder) scans require a contrast agent to enhance image quality. If contrast is needed, you may be asked to fast for 4–6 hours before the scan. Please remove all metallic objects, such as jewelry, belts, and watches, before entering the scan room, as these can interfere with image accuracy. Our technologist will explain the entire process, answer any questions you may have, and ensure you are comfortable before the scan begins.

What happens during a CT KUB scan?

During the scan, you’ll lie comfortably on a motorized CT table that slides into the scanner — a short, tunnel-like machine. The technologist will position you so that your kidneys, ureters, and bladder are precisely aligned for imaging. If contrast is required, it will be administered through an intravenous (IV) injection, which may cause a brief warm sensation or metallic taste which is completely normal. The scanner rotates around your body, capturing detailed cross-sectional images of your urinary system. You may be asked to hold your breath for a few seconds during certain image captures to prevent motion blur. The procedure is painless and quick, typically lasting about 10–15 minutes. Throughout the scan, the technologist monitors you closely and can communicate with you through an intercom.

What happens after a CT KUB scan?

After the scan, you can usually resume your regular activities immediately. If contrast dye was used, you’ll be advised to drink plenty of water to help flush it out of your system. Minor side effects such as a warm sensation or mild discomfort at the injection site may occur but typically resolve quickly. A radiologist will analyze the scan images and prepare a detailed report highlighting any kidney stones, urinary tract obstructions, infections, or structural abnormalities. The report will be shared with your doctor, who will review the findings and discuss the next steps with you.

Who shouldn’t get a CT KUB scan?

Individuals with the following conditions can avoid getting a CT KUB scan:

    • Recently had a barium study
    • Patients on diabetes medication
    • Pregnant women
    • Patients with metallic implants
    • Heart & kidney patients

I took my mom for CECT full abdominal scan today. The senior technician (forgot the name) was very professional and dedicated. The procedure required my mom to hold the breathe for few seconds which she couldn’t do and scan was not done today. But the technician tried his best and comforted my mom. A big thanks for his support. Hopefully next time, she will be able to go through this. I really appreciate his efforts. Pricing and facilities are always good here. Reports are accurate.
