Why does Aarthi Scans & Labs offer services at low prices?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, we strongly believe that the cost of diagnosing a disease should never push a patient into financial hardship or make their treatment unaffordable. Unfortunately, the high cost of diagnostic services across the country often leads to delayed diagnoses, unaffordable tests, and limited access to advanced facilities leaving millions vulnerable.

Our vision is simple yet powerful; no one should suffer because a diagnosis is out of reach. To make this a reality, we have consistently kept our pricing 50–60% lower than the industry average, especially for essential services like MRI, CT, and blood tests. We also provide reduced pricing during night hours, further easing access for patients.

Over the last 36 years, it has been the trust of our patients, their word of mouth, and our unwavering commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate diagnostics that have helped us scale and sustain this model. By combining exceptional diagnostic capabilities with affordability, we continue to fight for a healthcare system where early, accurate diagnosis is accessible to all.

How does Aarthi Scans and Labs offer Services at a lower cost?

At Aarthi Scans and Labs, affordability is at the heart of our vision:“The cost to diagnose a disease should not make a patient poor, that their treatment becomes unaffordable.” Guided by this principle, we have priced our scans and blood tests 50–60% lower than the market rate, without compromising on quality or accuracy.

    We achieve this through:

    Profit by volume & scale

Serving a large patient base allows us to keep costs low and pass on the benefit directly to patients.

    Efficient use of technology

Automation and digital workflows reduce manual work in reporting, improving speed while cutting costs.

    In-house management

Our leadership operates with in-depth knowledge of local needs, ensuring effective and cost-conscious operations.

    Right-sized infrastructure

We invest wisely in facilities and real estate, avoiding unnecessary overheads.

    Frugal spending

Every rupee is spent with care, prioritizing patient benefit over extravagance.

    Zero-kickback policy

We ensure that our savings is passed directly to the patients instead of intermediaries.

    PET CT Scan

A PET CT scan combines Positron Emission Tomography with Computed Tomography to detect cancer, assess brain and heart function, and study cellular activity. The procedure, including preparation time, usually takes 2 to 3 hours. Reports are provided within 6 hours to support timely medical decisions. Our price is ₹11,000. This scan involves moderate radiation exposure, which is carefully monitored to ensure patient safety.

What is a PET CT scan?

PET stands for Positron Emission Tomography and CT stands for Computed Tomography. While PET scan monitors how the body is working, CT scan captures sharp images of the body’s internal parts. These two scans together combine information into a single scan. This scan helps to reveal the patient’s condition at an early stage.

Furthermore, it gives a more accurate result than the two scans performed separately. A PET CT scan is helpful in the diagnosis of different types of cancer, their stages, heart diseases, brain function, and the muscular skeleton structure.

When and why is a PET CT scan done?

A PET CT scan is recommended to evaluate cancer detection, spread, and treatment response. It combines the functional detail of PET (cell activity) with the structural clarity of CT. Doctors use it to assess heart diseases, brain disorders, and unexplained infections. PET CT helps track how organs and tissues are functioning at a cellular level, making it vital in oncology and neurology.

What happens before a PET CT scan?

Before your PET CT scan, our team will provide clear instructions to help you prepare. You may be advised to fast for several hours, usually avoiding food and drinks other than water. This ensures accurate results, especially for scans that assess metabolic activity. A small amount of a radioactive tracer (usually injected intravenously) will be administered prior to the scan. This tracer highlights areas of abnormal cell activity in your body. Our staff will review your medical history, allergies, medications, and any conditions like diabetes to tailor the preparation and ensure your safety. You may be asked to rest quietly for about 30–60 minutes after the tracer is given, allowing it to circulate through your body.

What happens during a PET CT scan?

During the scan, you will lie comfortably on a motorized table that moves through the PET CT scanner, a machine shaped like a large, doughnut-style ring. The CT scan uses X-rays to provide detailed anatomical images, while the PET scan detects the radioactive tracer to show how your organs and tissues are functioning. Together, these create a highly accurate picture of your body’s structure and activity. You will need to remain still and occasionally hold your breath to ensure the clearest images. The scan itself is painless and usually takes 20–45 minutes, depending on the area being examined.

What happens after a PET CT scan?

Once the scan is complete, you can usually return to normal activities unless otherwise advised. If you received a tracer, drinking plenty of fluids will help flush it out of your system. The small amount of radioactivity naturally leaves your body within a day. Our radiologist will carefully analyze the images and prepare a detailed report for your referring doctor. Reports are typically available within 24–48 hours. Your doctor will then discuss the results with you and guide you on further treatment or follow-up if needed.

Who shouldn’t get a PET CT scan?

    • Pregnant women
    • Individuals allergic to contrast dye
    • Patients with medical implants

I took my mom for CECT full abdominal scan today. The senior technician (forgot the name) was very professional and dedicated. The procedure required my mom to hold the breathe for few seconds which she couldn’t do and scan was not done today. But the technician tried his best and comforted my mom. A big thanks for his support. Hopefully next time, she will be able to go through this. I really appreciate his efforts. Pricing and facilities are always good here. Reports are accurate.

    Frequently Asked Questions

A CT scan or computed tomography uses X-rays to create scans of different parts of the body in-depth. A PET CT scan takes this to the next level. Positron Emission Tomography aka PET scan involves injecting a radioactive tracer into the patient’s vein. The tracer is glucose which gets sucked by the cells that need energy the most. The CT scan machine then scans the areas of high metabolic activity and gives accurate results.

A PET CT scan is generally considered safe except that the radioactive tracer may have some side effects. The side effects include redness and discomfort at the injection site, changes in the taste buds, allergic reactions like hives and itching.

A PET CT scan at Aarthi Scans & Labs costs only 11,000/- rupees.

A PET CT scan takes about two hours or sometimes more depending on the waiting time after injecting the tracer.

A PET CT scan is considered safe, some patients may have mild allergic reactions and headaches.

Generally, it is considered safe to have a light meal before coming for a PET CT scan. Avoid sugary, high calorie food and items like bread, cereal, and colas. You can consume food that is rich in protein and healthy fats. It is better to ask your doctor regarding intake of food before a PET CT scan.

A PET CT scan detects different types of cancer, its spread, the effectiveness of an ongoing cancer treatment, dementia, and bowel issues.
