What is an CT Chest Scan?
A CT chest scan is a specialized x-ray that creates cross-sectional images of the chest. This allows the radiologist to evaluate the lungs, heart, and great vessels in a single exam. The exam is performed by injecting contrast material into a peripheral intravenous line and then acquiring multiple x-ray images while the patient holds their breath.
