It feels like I had barely any time to do anything outside of work until September.

What is Protein - CSF?

Elevated CSF protein is seen in infections, intracranial hemorrhages, multiple sclerosis, Guillain Barré syndrome, malignancies, some endocrine abnormalities, certain medication use, and a variety of inflammatory conditions. Protein concentration is falsely elevated by the presence of RBCs in a traumatic tap situation. This can be corrected by subtracting 1 mg per dL (0.01 g per L) of protein for every 1,000 RBCs per mm3.5 [Evidence level B: observational study] This correction is only accurate if the same tube is used for the protein and cell counts.
